Leah Harris-Heiman is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and is one of our program therapists at Care Star.
Leah’s background includes training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and other training in the fields of Addiction and Eating Disorders. With a Trauma-Informed approach, Leah helps her clients heal from the wounds of the past so they can live fully in the present.
A firm believer in person-centered therapy, (Rogerian psychotherapy), Leah will often create individualized treatment plans according to the unique needs of her clients. Leah practices a Holistic approach, where she looks to further the wellness of her client’s mind, body, and soul. Taking into account the client’s current challenges, family history, and other contributing factors, Leah will utilize whichever therapeutic techniques would be most beneficial to their wellness journey.
The presence that Leah brings to a room is calm and hopeful. Her inquisitive, energetic, passionate, and fun-loving nature is a true asset to her practice. Leah finds enjoyment in all forms of art, including; music, painting, candlelit journaling, and poetry. Her thirst for knowledge motivates her to continually learn and grow from all life’s experiences. Leah looks to embrace people from all walks of life. Her passion is in committing to the personal development of her clients as they take the journey to find their intrinsic worthiness. She attributes her inspiration to all survivors and thrivers in their bravery on the healing journey.
